Vibration Dampers

It is very important that the engine is on good vibration dampers. If these are older than 10 years then it is the time for renewal. If you are building a new motor and /or coupling then we advise a homokinetic coupling with a stow thrust bearing. The stow pressure of the propeller-shaft then doesn’t push against the motor but against the stow thrust bearing. Therefore you could choose softer vibration dampers under the engine which allow less vibration and from this, have less noise in your boat.

For an optimal vibration damping we advise you to adjust the homokinteic coupling as well as the anti-drumming of the hull. If you can’t adjust any homokinetic coupling, then you can always anti-drum the hull in order to damp as much vibration as possible.
