Air-conditioning and ventilation noise is generated in two places: at the drive (motor / ventilator) and at the terminal as a result of the air stream.

The nuisance noise of the drive can be best prevented by building housing all around it of a sufficiently heavy material (for example wood). This housing must be sealed, as much as is possible. Every gap is a noise-crack and the noise insulation can be negatively affected. The noise can further be isolated by covering the inner side of this housing with noise absorbent foam. Acusticab is ideally suitable for this. This is delivered in an easy to apply and self-adhesive version. For absorption material; the thicker the material, the better the absorption, applies.

Inno is a new, cheap, simple, DIY product that seriously reduces nuisance noise in round air ducts both at the office and at home (new building). The damper has a number of oval openings where a plug is situated. By pressing (or unpressing) one or more plugs from the inner damper the best balance can be defined between noise damping and air flow.

Better results are achieved by connecting more Inno-dampers in a series. This product is exclusively available for round air ducts and can be supplied in diverse dimensions. The 125mm diameter is most common in homes.
