Merfolood is a piping isolation plate, comprised of : - 0,35 mm lead; - At the visible side provisioned of 2 mm moisture resistant PVC foam; - and at the other side 10mm sound absorbent PU foam
Merfolood is not very heavy but does provide exceptional acoustic results. That is for two reasons. - The under surface is light, so relatively significant mass is added. - This concerns high frequency noise and Merfolood combats this noise very well. This comes from the extra 10 mm foam layer which separates the lead from the underlying pipe.
Merfolood has a 2mm top layer that ensures thermal isolation of the lead. This is important for example for the melt-water outlet to avoid condensation forming. Condensation can form at the 90 degree bend under a standpipe and so, for example, ruin the ceiling tiles of the ceiling system.
Operation
Merfolood is easy to fold around the pipe. It is also an advantage in its operation that Merfolood is not absolutely static. It is important that Merfolood can be applied firmly. Since there must certainly be a 2 cm overlap and it must be well taped. Isotape is very suitable for this.
