Speakers and subwoofers cause the plate material of your car to vibrate. These vibrations are in turn transformed into sound, as a result of which your music doesn’t sound the way you would want it to. These vibrations can be stopped by using anti-drum material. Anti-drum materials ensure that vibrations cannot be conducted to the chassis and absorb (damp) plate resonance. For good damping you must damp a minimum of 70% of the surface. When you simultaneously want good sound insulation (for example: external road noise), then you must cover the entire surface.

Depending on the source of the vibrations you can damp the following flat surfaces:

Boot

The best solution for the bottom of the boot is to use a heavier plate Vibraflex Extreme. The best solution for the parcel shelve is to use Vibraflex Normal. This material damps less than Vibraflex Extreme but remains more securely fixed in a suspended position.

Vertical flat surfaces can be covered with Vibraflex Normal or Vibraflex Extreme.

Roof

The best solution for the roof is to use Vibraflex Normal, this is lighter than Vibraflex Extreme and so remains better fixed in a suspended position. See to it that the whole surface of the roof is dry and oil free prior to mounting the Vibraflex. For optimal application, also ensure that the Vibraflex is firmly pressed everywhere.

We advise you to use Vibraflex Normal for damping the car doors. In case you prefer to use a paste then a good alternative is Vibradamp A90-P (apply minimal thickness of 1.5 mm); mostly for use in hard to reach places.
